Learning to Garden: It is Easier Than You Think

I used to pull into my driveway after work every day and wish I had beautiful flowers growing in my yard, like many of my neighbors. My parents didn't garden when I was a child, and I thought it was a talent that just didn't run in my family. I decided "what the heck?" one day and started researching gardening tips. I learned how to plant the right flowers in the right places, so they get just enough sunlight. I also learned a lot along my gardening journey, and I now have a beautiful yard filled with flowers that I planted myself! I decided that I wanted to create a blog that helps everyone realize that they can have the yard of their dreams. I hope you learn a lot here that helps you finally have a yard that you love!

2 Reasons To Replace Your Old Furnace

Replacing your home's older furnace is a very important task, mostly because of all of the downsides and dangers that can come about from having an aging and old furnace. Listed below are two reasons to consider replacing your older furnace.

Energy Efficiency

One of the biggest reasons to consider replacing your current furnace with a new one is because newer furnaces tend to be quite a bit more energy efficient than even models from just a few years ago. As a result, the new furnace will be able to heat your home as well or better than your current furnace while expending much less energy to do so because of advances in technology and design.

This will result in a nice decrease in your heating bills every winter and save you quite a bit of money over time. This change in energy efficiency will be even more obvious if you have moved into an older home that has a furnace that is nearing the end of its operational lifespan, which is usually between one and two decades.

In addition, as a furnace gets older, it can often experience a large drop in performance. When this happens, you will likely notice that your furnace and heating system are turning on more frequently or that the air exiting your heating vents is not all that warm. As a result of this drop in performance, you will also see an increase in your utility bills due to how often the furnace is operating in order to try and get your house warm.

Air Filtration

Another major reason to replace an older furnace is in order to get better air filtration systems. With older furnaces that have begun to degrade, it is common for them to be less effective at filtering dust and other allergens out of the air. When this happens, the dust and allergens will actually end up getting spread all over your house whenever the heating system is turned one.

In most cases, the dust and allergens will make your home smell a bit foul or musty while also making it so that you have to dust and clean your house more frequently. However, in some cases, the extra dust and allergens in the air can negatively affect you and your family's health. In that situation, your family can end up becoming sick much more often, developing respiratory issues, experiencing frequent asthma attacks, and simply sneezing or coughing constantly.
